Nothing by Script - The
"Nothing" is a song by Irish alternative rock band The Script from their second studio album, Science & Faith. The song was released as the second single on 19 November 2010. It was written and produced by Danny O'Donoghue, Mark Sheehan, Steve Kipner, and Andrew Frampton. The song charted at number 15 in Ireland, and at number 42 in the United Kingdom. The song is about a man who is intentionally drunk after the girl who he broke up with has nothing to say after the man dialed her number and said to her he still loves her, but receiving not a single response from the girl, hence the title "Nothing" in reference to what the girl gave to the man. The music video was filmed in Camden in northwest London, England. It premiered on 21 October 2010. The music video starts with Danny and the rest of the band, drinking in a local bar, showing Danny in a depressed yet lively manner. Show video tutorial!
About the Artist
The Script are a soft rock band from Dublin, Ireland. Based in London after signing to Sony Label Group imprint Phonogenic, the band released their self-entitled debut album in August 2008. Their music has been featured in video games and the popular programmes 90210, Ghost Whisperer, The Hills, Waterloo Road, Eastenders and The Vampire Diaries. Danny O'Donoghue and Mark Sheehan met in a club in The Liberties area of Dublin, near the Guinness brewery, gravitating to each other through a shared liking of music, and in particular a love of American black music. "At that time, MTV only came on in Dublin after midnight, it was the fuzzy channel, and for my generation black culture was just a wave through us all," explains Sheehan. "It wasn't about gangs and guns; it was fashion and fun, singing and dancing." Mark and Danny were formerly part of a band that had formed in 1996 called MyTown, including Chris Costello, lead singer. They achieved moderate success in Ireland and the UK but were overshadowed by the thriving boyband circuit. There were four members: Danny O'Donoghue, Mark Sheehan, Paul Walker, and Terry Daly.
